It has finally arrived.

Notre Dame took the field at the LaBar Practice Complex on a beautiful South Bend morning for its first practice of fall training camp.

The Fighting Irish wore shorts, practice jerseys and helmets, and will not dress in full pads until next week, but ran through several 11-on-11 drills today.

The first 20-30 minutes of the two-hour practice were open to the media and head coach Brian Kelly spent much of that time working with Everett Golson, Gunner Kiel and Andrew Hendrix, the three quarterbacks vying for the starting job.

The Fighting Irish Digital Media team was on hand to capture the sights and sounds of this morning’s practice, and put together this quick video:

After practice, Coach Kelly and several of the team’s seniors met with the media. For what it’s worth, Kelly explained that Golson took the first-team snaps because he had the strongest performance in April’s Blue-Gold game, but that Hendrix could take the first reps at tomorrow’s practice.
