Max Redfield is a freshman safety from Mission Viejo, Calif. I sat down with Max to ask him some rapid-fire questions about both his time on the field and his interests off it.

Q: Tell us something about Max Redfield that people don’t know.

A: I played soccer for 12 years.

Q: What is your favorite football related memory?

A: In high school, I had two interceptions in one of the first games I started as a sophomore against Long Beach Poly, which was a pretty big game for us.

Q: Who was your favorite football player growing up?

A: Brian Dawkins was my favorite player. I think he is one of the best safeties in the history of the NFL.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: It has to be sushi.

Q: Describe your pregame ritual.

A: I try to stay light-hearted for a little bit with some friends, just kind of messing around. Then, once it comes down to game time, I just get really focused and ready for the game.

Q: Where would you take your ideal vacation?

A: Either Spain, Jamaica, or Brazil.

Q: What song has been stuck in your head lately?

A: I’d have to say “Come Thru” by Drake.

Q: Where is your favorite spot on campus?

A: Either the Grotto or Touchdown Jesus.

Q: If you had one superpower what would it be?

A: It would have to be the ability to fly.

Q: If you weren’t playing safety what other position would you play?

A: Receiver. 100%.

Q: Who is the funniest member of the team?

A: Probably Devin Butler. He’s a funny guy.

Q: Who is the most serious team member?

A: Honestly, no one is super serious. I’ll have to get back to you on that one.

Q: What is the best nickname on the team?

A: “Daddy Spond” a.k.a. Danny Spond.
